### 2.5.6. Cost variant

Constraint ${C}_{\mathrm{𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜}}$ is a cost variant of constraint ${C}_{\mathrm{𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑦}}$.

EXAMPLE: As an example, constraint ${C}_{\mathrm{𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜}}=$ $\mathrm{𝚜𝚞𝚖}_\mathrm{𝚘𝚏}_\mathrm{𝚠𝚎𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚜}_\mathrm{𝚘𝚏}_\mathrm{𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚌𝚝}_\mathrm{𝚟𝚊𝚕𝚞𝚎𝚜}$ is the cost variant of constraint ${C}_{\mathrm{𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑦}}=$ $\mathrm{𝚗𝚟𝚊𝚕𝚞𝚎}$, where we introduce a weight for each value and we replace the number of distinct values by the sum of weights associated with distinct values.
