Thierry Petit

Thierry Petit received a PhD from Montpellier II University in 2002, after 3 years in the  R&D department of ILOG (IBM). Since 2003, he is associate professor in computer science at the école des Mines de Nantes. He was responsible of the second year teaching program in computer science for one hundred students, from 2007 to 2011. He is co-head of the TASC team since July 2011.

Thierry Petit’s research topic is constraint programming. He published more than 50 papers, half of them in the most selective international conferences and journals of his community. His research focuses on over-constrained problems, where he introduced soft global constraints, generic representations of constraints, automatic modeling and filtering algorithms.
